Finally managed to catch ‘Cold Mountain’ on DVD – special edition the other night, and although Jude, Renee and Nicole were fabulous the film lacked something.

Perhaps I just don’t get Anthony Minghella subtlety or too much was crammed in to too little, I don’t know, it just left me flat. I really wanted to enjoy, maybe I’ll try again in a different mood.

Ray Winstone played a blinder though, excellent and Jack White from the White Stripes great. The bluegrass music by T Bone Burnette was also well worth it, perhaps not so bad after all?
