Hunting and gathering today in search of fresh farm produce. Drove to a farm just outside Elloughton where a farmer stashes eggs (still warm) and other goodies in a display cabinet with a moneybox left to its own devices. Imagine my delight to find home made raspberry jelly (no pips) and cherry jelly, £1.85 and also bags of new potatoes, broad beans and cauliflowers. I can feel a Victoria sponge coming on.
Maria Sharapova rocks. Grace under pressure or what, Serena not up to form as yet but what a final, can hardly wait for next year. Roddick disappointingly through to meet Feddera in the final tomorrow, poor baby Goran maybe next year.
‘Kitschified iconography’, in the New shock of the New BBC, ‘Robert Hughes making the daring admission that he doesn't like a lot of Britart. He dismisses works such as Tracey Emin's My Bed and Damien Hirst's shark installation: "They say that in advertising, you have to get your message across in under 12 seconds," he says. "Well, that's about the amount of time you actually need to spend looking at most of this art." Exactly.
